The Wedding Party

Stephanie Quan

Stephanie Quan

Stephanie and Danielle met at the beginning of their sophomore year of college as suitemates at Columbia. Both obviously maintained stellar academic records (not counting the time they almost got written up for a party on the East Campus rooftop) while managing to enjoy suite cocktail parties, nights at 1020, and the occasional venture outside the Columbia bubble (Downtown??? *gasp* How exotic!).

After graduation, Stephanie moved to Los Angeles to teach chemistry at a swanky Hollywood high school. Danielle remained in New York, but was glad to take any opportunity to visit southern California for some wine tasting, road trips, and quality time away from east coast humidity. The two have stayed close over the years, though are definitely overdue for another road trip soon.

Steph lives in Portland, Oregon, where she works for Intel, goes rock climbing, and (much like Danielle) wishes she could get a dog.

Stephanie Quan

Ixiana Wilmot

Ixiana was bartending at 1020, a neighborhood bar near Columbia, when Danielle's brother David introduced the two of them. David was, at the time, in the process of trying to get Ixiana to go out with him. They're married with two kids now, so he appears to have been successful.

Ixiana thus became Danielle's very first sister. They've bonded over wine and cheese nights for nearly 10 years, and served as founding members of the prestigious Foxy Ladies darts team based out of Brooklyn in 2008/2009. Danielle was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid in David and Ixiana's destination wedding in Puerto Rico. They went out (or stayed in - let's hear it for NYC food delivery options!) frequently when they lived just a few blocks from each other in Brooklyn, and see each other frequently nowadays as well, despite living a little further apart.

Ixiana is a photographer, blogger, and health nut living in Clarksburg, Maryland. She is the proud mama of Lucas, Marcos, and a fluffy black cat named Ziggy (who makes Danielle's eyes itch, but is nevertheless awesome).

Katherine Wallace

Katherine Wallace

Danielle met Kat in 9th grade at Holy Child. They shared a friend group and spent many evenings on everything from raucous concerts to quiet movie nights in friends' basements. They also killed time during free periods hanging out in the stairwell behind the gym.

They remained in touch during college, but reconnected more when Danielle moved back to the D.C. area after living in New York. Through Kat, Danielle was also able to reconnect with some casual acquaintances from high school who lived near her and made great drinking buddies. Kat could also always be counted on for excellent Halloween parties.

She now lives in Richmond, where she is a social worker at a hospital. She also fosters (and occasionally adopts) amazing dogs.

Aaron Bender

Aaron Bender

Ed and Aaron met at work years ago, when they were both recruited to work on the same job. Aaron was already on the job site when Ed was recruited. The man who hired them both flew Ed to the job site in a helicopter, which was Ed's first time in a helicopter - he wasn't a fan, apparently it was a bit of a choppy landing. After Ed's tour of the facilities, he was introduced to Aaron, whose years of relevant experience overseas made him uniquely suited to his new position. Ed's experience in the field was more theoretical, and the two enjoyed some engaging discussions about the unique new project they'd joined.

Unfortunately, something went wrong on the job when a disgruntled employee shut down the security systems in an attempt to steal technology for a rival company. The velociraptors got out of their enclosure, and Aaron died a hero protecting Ed's colleagues from the hyperintelligent beasts. Ed, mourning Aaron's demise, informed their boss, Mr. Hammond, that he would not be endorsing the park, and fled the island after a harrowing escape from more velociraptors.*

So is Josh.

*Ed may have procrastinated a bit too long on writing his groomsmen bios, so Danielle decided to help out.
